The character I chose is Joseph from "Joseph and His Brothers". Joseph was the youngest of the twelve sons of wealthy Jacob of Canaan. Joseph was the favorite son of his father, and he was given a coat of many colors. Joseph's brothers were jealous of his being their father's favorite. Joseph had a dream about the sheaves bowing in the fields, and told his brothers whom were angered. Joseph chose to tell his brothers of his dream, with out thinking about how they would react, knowing that they were jealous of him.
Because of the decision to tell his brothers they grew angry and moved their flocks further away. This led Jacob to send Joseph one day to check on them. The brothers first decided to kill Joseph, by throwing him into pit. They then spotted a caravan and Judah decided that they should rather sell him into slavery. The brothers got 20 silver pieces for Joseph. They then took his coat and covered it in blood, presenting it to their father as if Joseph had been attacked and killed. Joseph was then sent into Egypt as a slave. He got to see the splendor of the richest land in the world and the wonder of the pyramids. Joseph became the slave of the captain of the royal guard.Joseph chose to make the best of this situation and over the years became the manager of the Captain's lands , houses and goods. In the end, he manages trough many trials to become the adviser of the Pharaoh and does indeed have his eleven brothers bow to him.
While it was not a very good choice to tell his brothers of the dream, he later made wise choices and became very thoughtful and was able to save his family in the end. He learned from being sold into slavery and made the best of his situation. I do admire him for making the best of a very bad situation.
